Aerial map with labels

Our aerial map does not contain labels; it consists purely of visual data. This is advantageous for some scenarios, but sometimes it is better to have the names of cities, streets, and states overlaid on the aerial map.

For this purpose, you can use a map set called names-overlay. It consists of transparent tiles containing only names (of states, cities, streets, etc.) and state borders.

This map layer is usually not used independently but is placed directly above the layer of aerial images. This combination results in a so-called hybrid map – an aerial map with labels.

The map is accessible through the REST API for map tiles.

You can see a simple example here.
